Shepton Mallet - 14th March 2026
Swim with me, swim with me
in your kaleidoscope of imagery.
All those fragments of memory
glistening like diamonds in those eyes.
Forever with me, you capture them all
And hold them in such warmth.
"You've been there",
"We are there".
What could I want of this life
other than to stare.
"Who's buying the coffee?"
"Who cares"
"Who's staring at you!"
"Nobody but me"
And from the depths she rises
And asks, "what's his name?"
I reply "Buddy."
And the kaleidoscope has form again,
cutting and splintering and shaping not just now but, then and the future.
I am dismayed but resourceful asking
"What brings you here?"
She replies,
"Your dog's eyes."
